The Telemark Research Institute undertakes missions locally, nationally and internationally. It has projects for local, regional and national authorities as well as for businesses, organizations and research. Institute also performs projects with EU and Interreg funding. In addition, it focuses on the dissemination of research and development results through lectures, papers and scientific articles.
Telemark Research has office in Helland and Bø in Telemark. The Institute has existed since 1986. The department receives basic funding from the Norwegian Research Council and is a member of FOCUS - organization for research in the regions. FOCUS has prepared a policy note describing the 12 departments and the organization's attitude in various research questions.
The Institute has carried out a benchmarking of all the Norwegian regions. Now the tool was called an “Attractivity barometer” and will be adjusted to TiF partners’ places.
