The annual conference of the Innovation Circle Network that took place in Jurmala / Latvia from 8th to 9th of December was also the venue for the latest Trans in Form coordinator meeting. Besides discussing the final event which will be held in May 2012 in Warsaw (Poland) the participants also talked about the implementation of a Roadmap to Rural Highlights.

The aim of this roadmap is a joined presentation of each partner’s rural highlights. Also, the roadmap will be a tool to introduce TiF achievements to a broader audience.

Furthermore the evaluation of the project was thematized. For a scientific approach the management asked Professor Cliff Hague to evaluate the project. Hague suggested preparing a questionnaire for making interviews with each partner. These interviews could be used as a key resource for the evaluation.

The next TiF event will be held in Suwalki (Poland) focusing on “Promotion and linkages among WP3 / WP4 / WP5 in Suwalki”. For registration please click here and fill out the form you find at the bottom of the page.

Jurmala was not only the meeting place for the TiF coordinators. Politicians, experts and stakeholders from eight different countries visited the Baltic Sea resort town to attend the annual conference of the Innovation Circle Network. „There are many networks in the world but we believe in ours“, stated Rita Merca, chairwoman of the Innovation Circle Network board when opening the two day event. “We want to raise important questions and figure out what steps should be taken to overcome difficulties”, these high demands were the tasks for the next two days. After a packed agenda with highly relevant presentations and challenging discussions all participants agreed on a resolution and committed “to continue to work together as a leading and growing international network for small towns and rural regions in the North of Europe, to share ideas, work together and support each other in the spirit of solidarity, and as a practical way of implementing the EU aim of territorial cohesion”.
